About Tarnfield Bowling Club

Tarnfield Bowling Club

was founded by a group of bowlers working for West Yorkshire Road Car Company who didn’t have access to a bowling green to enable them to play as a team representing their local bus depot. The company’s Social Club approached Leeds City Council to see if there was a spare green available and in 1984 the West Yorkshire Road Car Company (Otley branch) bowling club was launched.

In 1989 West Yorkshire Road Car Company ceased to exist and the depot in Otley was closed.  At the AGM of 1989 the club was renamed and Tarnfield Bowling Club was born.

Where to find us!

Situated in Tarn Field Park, the nearest parking to the green is approached from the High Street, Yeadon, The green is on the right hand side of the approach road, up a slight rise and surrounded by mature hedges. The gate is on the north facing side opposite the children’s play park.
